Kintsugi workshop

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum
As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
Hands on bookmaking with skilled artisan, Melanie Gonzalez of Suzanna Productions.

STONE CARVING
Learn about stone carving with our guest speaker Carl Grieco.
Carl is an accomplished stone sculptor and will be talking with us about stone carving.
Accomplished stone sculptor Carl Grieco will talk about the process of how a stone sculptor creates a finished work starting with a subject. He will discuss the methods of the great sculptors as well as his own.
Carl is a member of the Artists Collective Of Hyde Park learn more about his work and some of the other talented artisans at the collective and read more about him in Arts Mid-Hudson.

DIY UP-CYCLING TEXTILE CLASS
BLEACH DYING 101 with artist Adam Colombo
August 28th 40$ per student Kids Class: (Ages 12-15) 1-3pm
Adult Class: 3:30-5:30pm Students will have the opportunity to explore various methods in up-cycling clothing through hands on bleach dying techniques. Adam will be showing abstract resistance, painting, drawing, pole wrapping and stenciling.
Class time will be spent partially outdoors and socially distanced.
One instructor and assistant will be present to facilitate activities.
All class materials and personal safety equipment will be provided.

Discuss your soap box derby designs with a PRO. Local maker Felix goes over tips and tricks for derby designs that work and tells you how to avoid the mistakes made in those that don't.
Bring Your Build To Life (Q&A): Wed 8/3 (6-10p)
Jump start your chances at success with local maker and derby veteran. Felix will show students how to tackle some derby design basics and what steps are necessary to make your build road worthy.
Derby D.I.Y. (Q&A): Thurs 8/4 (6-10p)
No need for a pit crew, Derby D.I.Y. has you covered. Find out how to troubleshoot some of the toughest aspects of derby builds with a derby master! Local maker Felix will show students how to address tracking and braking issues with their builds and provide advice on building roadblocks.
Last Minute Hacks (Q&A): Thurs 8/11 (6-10p)
Don’t panic!!! Felix will help guide you through wrap up questions that have you rolling out in style!
Derby cars welcome during class but must be taken home afterwards
